Longfellow Needs No Apologies

My paper blank
My thoughts thin
I look up from the page
See the world changed
While looking down
Lost from my own words

The time has come
To drink more
The only respite
To this drought

My paper blank
My thoughts thin
I push away from the desk
And head into the world
Looking around
For a drink once more.

Enjoyed this! Keep on filling up the tank with life. Feed the senses with the moment. It’s a heady tonic. A draught to end a drought. Then come back to find that even a blank page has shadow and texture.
